Dream Vision – Reves Review: A Blackwave/Blackgaze solo artist from Slovenia. May 15th, 2022, Dream Vision independently released his latest studio album Rêves, which includes seven compositions of dream visualization songs, that would gratify fans of Alcest and Abstract Void.

In our following discussion about the band’s musical work, we will focus on the FOURTH SIN, the overall DISCUSSION of the album. Immediately the listener presses that play button, one is welcomed to the opening track, LE DÉBUT, which welcomes the listener with warm atmospheric keys and beautiful work of the guitar -followed by a quick transition of synth-wave/electronic (with an -Esque GORILLAZ guitar vibe) atmosphere.
As one continues with their journey, a journey about “psychological and depression” as the lyrical topic, and the second track, ÂME, and the remaining five pieces where the music takes the listener on a musical journey of providing the listener’s ears with a musical void of bringing the listener to a new musical style, called “Blackwave” which perfectly describes DREAM VISION musical spectrum.
DREAM VISION music comes across as fragmented, with the metal or rock parts suddenly dropping into the ambient or orchestral wash and back, simultaneously, the album is magical, created by a perfect combination of providing the listener with an exciting and complex/experimental blend (influences in) of characteristics, such as the aesthetics and sound of black metal, blackgaze, post-rock/black, depressive black, background ambient wash, melodic post-rock melodies, synth-wave/electronic parts -thus creating this dream-visualization of transfixing and entertaining music to the listener’s ears which are provided and delivered by a strong composition (excellent and modern production in sound), within the music and songwriting, productive of dream-like of exceptional devilmanship.
Music might be considered as much noise as post-black metal/post-rock. In some songs, the attitude seems experimental— a relaxing piece that’s neither dull nor repetitive
