The First Three Sins of Be None Of You
Let’s start by discussing the first three sins of Shrouded In Darkness and their album, Be None Of You.
The First Sin, The Strings/Keys: Features guitar work with various tempos, tones of flowing chords and solos, additional cosmic sense of horror atmosphere. The Second Sin, The Vocals: Involve deep growls. The Third Sin—The Percussions: Delves into the vast world of slow pounding beats and fills of the drums.
The Fourth Sin: Overall Discussion: Capture this ritualistic and horror soundscape/atmospheric-musical score
As one presses that play button, one is welcomed to the opening piece, Ex Cineribus, which welcomes the listener with a dark/horrifying classical introductory instrumental opening. Following suit with the following piece, An Approaching Storm, the first song following the intro track and the remaining five pieces which open the gates of the cosmos of horror.
As one continues their dark and haunting journey, a musical spectrum that is genuinely dark and heavy from the moment of pressing that play button a musical score that seems to haunt you in your worst nightmare—simultaneously from the opening to the closing title track, each song is a unique exploration of dark themes, from personal struggles to cosmic horror…
Be None Of You is delivered and provided by impressive (all wrapped professionally) devilmanship and musicianship that has managed to create and capture an atmosphere indeed darker and heavier than the pits of hell. One thing is for sure that Shrouded In Darkness, and a band that knows how to create dark atmospheric and heavy/doomy music that sends chills down one’s spine -thus making this perfect soundtrack for those cold wintery nights.
At the same time, Be None Of You provides and delivers the listener’s ears with this magnitude of seven songs and a dark and heavy atmosphere. This combines (not only) the slow-dirge of funeral doom with the crushing sound of death metal. But provides something different, unique and fresh -but gloom and doom, while the slow and heavy atmosphere captures the most serious of the music.
However, there are moments within the music of classical organ sections that genuinely capture the ritualistic and horror soundscape/atmosphere.
At the same time, Be None Of You also draws back to somewhat of the 80s Gothic rock and Type O Negative atmosphere feel (more (again) darker and heavier). Simultaneously penning this review and listening to this -truly gives me goosebumps and chills down my spine!
While Be None Of You provides and delivers the listener with everything mentioned above, this leaves the rest of the dark artistry, which includes the composition/characteristics that consist of various tones, moods/atmosphere and tempos. Instrumental work of the guitar and drums and vocals artistry that consists of guitar consisting of flowing chords and solos, slow pounding beats and fills of the drums, deep growls and an organ pushed in the background. Where each is composition/characteristics convenient to place at the right moment. The musical/instrumental and lyrics are all composed/scored with dark perfection. At the same time, the sound production is well executed and captures this true dark and pounding music from the moment of pressing that play button.
The album comes to an end with the last song, Be None Of You. Welcomes the listener with dark (classical) ritualistic and horror soundscape/atmosphere, and the sound of the murder of crows echoes in the listener’s souls. We want to give a shoutout to Shrouded In Darkness for letting us review their album, Be None Of You. Now, we’re going to wrap it up by talking about the final three sins and concluding the review.

PlayThe Last Three Sins
Let’s discuss the last three sins, our thoughts on Shrouded In Darkness and their album, Be None Of You.
The Fifth Sin, The Memorabilia: Is that for us, Be None Of You, we found a fascinating blend of musical elements that encompasses the slow, weighty qualities of doom metal, intertwined with an eerie, cosmic sense of horror.
The Sixth Sin, The Artwork:
The artwork Is very fitting for the music; the artwork was painted by Gustave Doré. Gustave was a “French printmaker, one of the most prolific and successful book illustrators of the late 19th century, whose exuberant and bizarre fantasy created vast dreamlike scenes widely emulated by Romantic academicians.”
The Seventh Sin, Disrelish:
Nothing to disrelish within the musical spectrum of Shrouded In Darkness, and their album, Be None Of You
