The Fourth Sin: Overall Discussion: A vivid picture of the despair & bleakness…

Upon pressing the play button, the listener is immediately immersed in the opening piece, BURDENED. The music begins with a sci-fi atmosphere and spoken words. This leads to an explosive instrumental section that unleashes a barrage of brutalization of the remaining piece.

As you delve deeper into the album’s latter half, you’ll find yourself traversing through a harrowing landscape, delving into the profound impact of drug addiction. The tracks Dead In The Dirt and two other songs provide a raw, unflinching portrayal of this destructive habit’s emotional and physical tolls. Lead vocalist Crust’s poignant lyrics draw from his own experiences, painting a vivid picture of the despair and bleakness accompanying a life of nihilistic indulgence. With each thunderous riff and guttural growl, the listener is forced to confront the stark realities of drug addiction and the devastating consequences that follow.

It is often observed that metal fans tend to overlook brutal death metal and slam. Though my preference doesn’t align with slam death, this particular slam/brutal metal band has caught my attention with their unique approach in their four intense tracks and lyrical concepts. The devilmanship exuded by this band showcases an exquisite blend of guitar work that is exceptionally intricate and showcases the band’s proficiency in creating complex yet catchy riffs that will undoubtedly attack the listener’s senses and make them headbang uncontrollably.

Alongside this are unrelenting drumming patterns, strikes, and fills. The vocalist’s range is impressive, and they display a remarkable ability to maintain consistent intensity throughout the songs with his deep guttural growls.

The production quality is also outstanding, with top-notch sound and crisp and well-balanced music, while the music is mixed to highlight each instrument’s strengths. Overall, this band’s unique approach to slam/brutal metal is a breath of fresh air and is sure to satisfy fans of the genre.

Face Of Korruption stands out in its genre by tackling unconventional themes such as substance abuse, mental health struggles, societal detachment, and existentialism. Rather than relying on the typical gore, horror, or science fiction tropes, they bring attention to these essential topics through their music, leaving an impression on the listener’s mind.

The album comes to an end with the last song, The Eye Opener. We want to give a shoutout to Shred Strom for letting us review Face Of Korruption and their Dead in the Dirt album. Now, we’re going to wrap it up by talking about the final three sins and concluding the review.
