Alogon – Chrysalis Review opens and discusses the FIRST SIN: THE STRINGS/KEYS. Consists of progressive guitar-driven complex chord playing, topped off with raw, repetitive, aggressive, groovy hooks, groovy bass hooks and beautiful ambient synths.

Let’s talk about the SECOND SIN: THE VOCALS, which involves multifaceted styles of clean/smooth vocals and growls full of vibrancy.

Moving on to the THIRD SIN: THE PERCUSSIONS, which delves into the vast world of clean and catchy drum patterns and beats.

In our following discussion about the band’s musical work, we will focus on the FOURTH SIN, the overall DISCUSSION of the album. the listener is immediately the listener pressing that play button, one is welcome to the title track ARHATA, which opens to a beautifully composed instrumentation intro of giving you this warm trippy – psychedelic/spacy – ambient feeling with light female moans in the background, then segues into the remaining six tracks that are a marvellous deliverance of various dynamic compositions and moods, while utilising multiple metal/non-metal elements, (not just in the music, but within the guitar work, and especially the various vocal arrangements) such as djent/prog metal/rock, tint of nu metal, dark rock, some pop and funk, acoustic pickings, different tempos, short ambient soundscapes, heavy and light (emotional) moments, various melodies and aggressive, that provides the listener with a captivity and an overall outstanding of experimental primitive/clean sounds while keeping your ears entertained from start to finish – not forgetting the excellent devilmanship and the seven equally solid, strongly composed songs.

Alogon - Chrysalis Review

ALOGON there is more than just groove metal with progressive metal within their music; just like the life circle of a butterfly, the music starts like a chrysalis; deep inside of this Chrysalis lies a butterfly, where the colours/type is naked to the rest of the world, for me, this is how I feel about ‘Alogon’ music when hearing the music for the first time, and not inspecting the various elements within the pieces of music.

I wanted to share our thoughts and MEMORABILIA on the FIFTH SIN. Everything. From start to finish, mainly track six, HUSK.

Let’s discuss the ARTWORK of the SIXTH SIN. Is beautiful and vibrant; I love how the band’s name is spelt in Greek.

Finally, closing the review with the last sin, the SEVENTH SIN, the DISRELISH. With nothing to disrelish within the musical world of  ALOGON this concludes the Alogon – Chrysalis Review.
