AnthenorA – Mirrors and Screens Review: A Heavy Power Metal band from Italy. The band was formed in 1989 and released a handful of studio albums. November 27th, 2020, the band released their fourth studio album, Mirrors and Screens. The album was released through Punishment 18 Records
AnthenorA – Mirrors and Screens Review opens and discusses the FIRST SIN: THE STRINGS/KEYS. Which consists of a double onslaught of clean/sharp fast and adrenaline melodic, powerful riffs & rhythm sections, fret-board shredding and solos, additional clean-chord/memorable choruses and a tint of progressive/technical, with solid bass lines
Let’s talk about the SECOND SIN: THE VOCALS, which involves -Esque of (mixture) Bruce Dickson/Dio and versatile stylish singing
Moving on to the THIRD SIN: THE PERCUSSIONS, which delves into the vast world of full-throttle battering drumming & beats
In our following discussion about the band’s musical work, we will focus on the FOURTH SIN, the overall DISCUSSION of the album. As soon as the play button is pressed, one is welcome to the INTRO track, which opens with (warm feeling) clean pickings of the acoustic guitar, harp and atmospheric keys.
Following suit with the second song TIRESIAS, and the remaining twelve songs.
MIRRORS AND SCREENS is a fruit of the art of a fast onslaught of duel fiery heavy melodic riffs of the guitars and great vocal pipes of the singer, leaving the remaining twelve songs, that give a deliverance of hot-smoking shreds, powerful vocals, the battering of the drums, sorrow (slow) moments, rock n’ roll vibrant feel (that is just top-notch), that is just a fruit of art of giving the listener (not exclusively) heavy metal, still, a HOLY DIVER anthem feel of DIO while mixing the melodic theatrical stylish sound of IRON MAIDEN, massive/powerful sound of HAMMERFALL with an overwhelming of well-executed of reliable, strongly composed songs about war, violence and fantasy, top-notch sound and mixing – while travelling through each song, the listener will come across various moods, tempos, clean passages/production and top-notch musicianship/craftsmanship & much more.
ANTHENORA started life as an IRON MAIDEN tribute act; I feel like they are taking (strongly) the influences of IRON MAIDEN, HAMMERFALL, some RONNIE JAMES DIO, and many others to create this unique sound.
At the same time, the band name takes inspiration from Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy (Inferno Ch. XXXII): “Antenora” is a frozen lake where traitors of the homeland are punished.
I wanted to share our thoughts and MEMORABILIA on the FIFTH SIN. The whole thing, from start to end.
Let’s discuss the ARTWORK of the SIXTH SIN. Gives some impression of the third dimension and fantasy/sci-fi.
Finally, closing the review with the last sin, the SEVENTH SIN, the DISRELISH. With nothing to disrelish within the musical world of ANTHENORA. This concludes the AnthenorA – Mirrors and Screens Review.
