In the Rebirth of the album, the demons from Jerusalem who have unleashed their powerful, bone-crushing piece of Middle Eastern black metal again will finally be given the wax treatment they deserve. The Israeli band “Arallu” was published in 1999 with the classic Middle Eastern atmosphere debut album The War on the Wailing Wall. After over 20 years, he finally returned with a massive new vinyl mastering by Patrick. W Engel at “Temple of Disharmony”, 180 G Flame-coloured vinyl, 350gsm cover Black and White flood print inside.
Immediately after the listener presses the play button, the album opens with the title track, Arallu’s Warriors, giving us a few moments of silence, then jumps straight into the burning fiery pits of hell, screaming Hell Awaits, the anthem.
The listener is welcome to the second track, Sword Of Death, and the remaining ten tracks, where the band takes the listener on a journey about the band’s homeland struggles: “deep of Arallu home of Jerusalem and all around the Middle East as bringing the line of anti-religion and terror attacks, and the problematic situation around the Middle East conflict. Although Arallu is not a political band, the band keeps describing the situation around the old city of Jerusalem and the three main religions conflict through the lyrics.”
Arallu provides the listener not just raw or unholy black metal -but mixes an oriental, thrash, and primitive/barbaric vibe while adding a carnage and brutal extreme Middle Eastern anthem. With the additional sound FX/soundscapes that genuinely capture the sound and mood of each eleven songs and the theme of the lyrics.
At the same time, the listener will find that the band’s music presents an intelligent, genuinely captivating aspect throughout the piece. The monochromatic style in which it is presented adds depth and complexity to the overall sound. The band’s ability to convey a unique essence through their music is a testament to their skill and creativity. Each note, each chord, and each lyric is carefully crafted to create a cohesive and stunning piece of art.
This is not just extreme or black metal at its best; this is Middle Eastern raw black metal at its best.
The album concludes with the final track, Kill the Traitor. Which welcomes the listener with a full-on barbaric Iron Maiden stylistic chord progression song – the last few minutes of the music is left to be a witness for yourself…
We want to give a shoutout to Arulla, for letting us review their album, The War on the Wailing Wall. Now, we are going to conclude the review by talking about the final three sins and concluding the review.
