Breaths - Floruit Review

The album’s composition perfectly blends all its parts, each seamlessly complementing the other. It’s a fruit of art combination of post-metal/shoegaze, aggressive black metal, doom metal, progressive metal, post-hardcore punk, post-rock, and alternative metal.

At the same time, the music’s dark, brooding, melancholic and ethereal soundscape is one of the album’s standout features. The dreamy and mellow textures accompanying the heavy, soft moments, droning, and ethereal vocals of shoegaze and black metal shrieks are perfectly balanced.

In the fifth track of the album, We See You, listeners are treated to the impressive vocal talents of Matt McGachy, known for his work with the Canadian Tech Death Metal band Cryptopsy. McGahy’s contributions to the piece elevate its overall quality, leaving a lasting impression on those who experience it.

The volume and tempo changes heighten the dreamlike atmosphere, creating an awe-inspiring journey from pianissimo to fortissimo. The artist put much thought and care into each song, producing thirteen equally solid and strongly composed tracks.

Breaths has unveiled yet another exceptional piece of music guaranteed to mesmerise and captivate its listeners. The intricately woven soundscape is an artistic blend of experimental and cinematic elements, creating a truly unique and immersive auditory experience that effectively transports the listener to another dimension. The serene atmosphere exudes a sense of calmness and awe as if the listener is being taken on a journey through an unexplored void or an imaginary cosmos. This unparalleled experience is a remarkable feat that sparks the imagination and leaves a memorable and lasting impression on the listener.

The album comes to an end with the last song, Ruination. We want to give a shoutout to Breaths for letting us review his album, Floruit. Now, we’re going to wrap it up by talking about the final three sins and concluding the review.

The Last Three Sins

The Fifth Sin, The Memorabilia: Is that for us, Floruit is a compelling fruit of art result. This epic musical journey is a stunning display of musical talent and a truly unique listening experience that will undoubtedly leave an indelible impression on anyone who takes the time to enjoy it.

The Sixth Sin, The Artwork:

The artwork captures the whole story… “Floruit is a Doomgaze soundtrack to the End of the World, a concept album based on the idea that all of humanity’s accomplishments throughout history have ultimately led to our demise and that of the planet we live on. We continue to build, innovate, and exploit the planet’s resources, so much so that we have brought about our imminent destruction. Some feel that, at this point, there is no turning back, while others believe the Earth and humans can be saved. I suppose only time will tell, but as Floruit points out, there is a choice and action to be taken if we are to survive”. [Breaths] by Michelle Roberts (@flowers.in.february on Instagram)
