Introduction:
Cancervo, III: This review will evaluate every aspect of the album, from its intricate musical composition to its production. Our analysis will provide valuable insights to help you determine if this album is worth adding to your collection.
The First Three Sins of III
Let’s start by discussing the first three sins of Cancervo and their III album.
The First Sin, The Strings/Keys: A unique blend of feedback and distorted seventies heavy riffs with a fat psych groove. Few harmonies and solos characterise the chord playing, while the tempo changes keep things interesting and dynamic. The heavy-buzzing bass guitar riffs fill the void perfectly. The Second Sin, The Vocals: Increasingly characterised by a heavy voice, which adds an extra layer of depth and weight to the music. The Third Sin—The Percussions: The drum work features various beats, fills, and tempos.
The Fourth Sin: Overall Discussion: Clash between seventy-heavy riffs, and psychedelic stoner doom
As soon as the listener presses that play button, the opening piece Intro welcomes the listener with an organ introduction, short and haunting -yet draws the listener in.
As the listener continues their dark excursion, the second composition, Sacreligious Mass, and the remaining three pieces present a gloomy work of art.
Cancervo will drag you into the eternal clash between the sacred and the profane of seventy-heavy riffs, mystical moments, and psychedelic stoner doom with lyrics of folktale legends. Cancervo is the name of an iconic mountain in the heart of a valley rich in tradition and famous legends. In 2020, three local guys were charmed by the tale of the creature, half dog and half deer, who lived on that mountain.
A steady tempo, which imbues the music with a sense of soothing tranquillity, characterises Cancervo‘s music production style. One of the most notable aspects of their sound is the alluring quality of the music, which has a hypnotic effect on the listener. This unique quality adds to the distinctiveness and appeal of their music.
III is a collection of five songs, each varying in length from five to nine minutes.
As a listener, I can’t help but appreciate the band’s unique sound and devilmanship. Their music creates a wall of weighty and hypnotic sound with a psych feel, sometimes misty, shrouding in smoke of bluesy groove heaviness.
Cancervo is a band with a mood shifting between hypnotic and relaxing; it is a solid release and would please any psychedelic stoner doom/heavy rock fans.
The album comes to an end with the last song, Red Pig. We want to give a shoutout to Qabar PR for letting us review Cancervo and their III album. N. Now, we’re going to wrap it up by talking about the final three sins and concluding the review.

PlayThe last Three Sins
Let’s discuss the last three sins, our thoughts on Cancervo and their III album.
The Fifth Sin, The Memorabilia: Is that for us, Cancervo‘s musical performance guarantees to take you on a mystical journey. The music is so mesmerising that it can make you trance-like. However, the hypnotic effect of the music can make the experience somewhat dreary, but in a good way/in a positive sense.
I appreciate the band’s unique sound and devilmanship. Cancervo is a must-list for anyone who appreciates unique and mystical music created in the vein of retro-psychedelic doom/stoner and heavy rock.
The Sixth Sin, The Artwork:
The artwork has a distinct and recognizable design reminiscent of the Pentagram and old-school doom metal.
The Seventh Sin, Disrelish:
Nothing to disrelish within the musical spectrum of Cancervo, and their album III.
This concludes the Cancervo, III review.
