Dimwind-Breaths – Seasons Review: This is a split release with Swedish Post-metal Dimwind and American Blackgaze solo artist Breaths. On April 15th, 2022, the duo released their split EP, Seasons, which includes two songs about the impact of a global pandemic. The album was released through Trepanation Recordings.

SEASONS opens with DIMWIND kicking things off with spoken audio, following suit with a fifteen-minute instrumental of the fruit of art duo devilmanship, providing the listener’s ears with an avast textural and progressive soundscape. Following suit with the follow with BREATHS, where the music changes to this interchangeable fierceness and dreamlike blackgaze atmosphere.
Simultaneously, the album creates this album that feels like a change of seasons from both artists, combining two different genres of styles -thus (mentioned above) making this instrumental and blackgaze fruit of art; what was mentioned above also includes elements of slow and sorrowful of doom metal, progressive metal, post-hardcore punk, post-rock, tint of ambient, ethereal vocals of shoegaze.
SEASONS creates this dark, brooding, melancholy, and ethereal soundscape, which utilises various compositions/multifaceted of heavy and soft moments, multiple tones, moods, and atmosphere to capture its sound. Dark harmonies, calm, robust metallic riffages, and dynamic rhythms alternate with atmospheric passages, pianissimo to fortissimo, and piano and female spoken word sections can also be captured with one’s ears. SEASONS also includes slight head-nodding moments, droning, dreamy and mellow textures, raunchy riffage and rhythmic drumming.
