Entheogen – Other Word Review: A Progressive Death Metal band from Belgium. The band was formed in 2017 and released two singles. December 11th, 2020, the band independently released their debut studio album Other Word, and promoted it through HardLife Promotion PR.
Entheogen – Other Word Review opens and discusses the FIRST SIN: THE STRINGS/KEYS. Which consists of clean, complex/technically progressive power-chords/riffage, ditto rhythms, and melodies, topped with some post-rock sounding riffs and virtuoso playing style, strong bass riffs.
Let’s talk about the SECOND SIN: THE VOCALS, which involves mixture of snarls, low/harsh growls, and whispers
Moving on to the THIRD SIN: THE PERCUSSIONS, which delves into the vast world of clean, progressive drum patterns & floor-peddling beats
In our following discussion about the band’s musical work, we will focus on the FOURTH SIN, the overall DISCUSSION of the album. Immediately after the listener presses the play button, one transcends into another dimension/plane of existence of the opening title track, ENTERING THE OTHER WORLD, which opens to a soundscape of ethereal/out-of-body experience instrumental intro; the sound and tone are very fitting to the titled track.
Breaking into the second track, giving the listener an ear-full of powerful and clean passages of the guitar virtuoso, epic drumming, and whispers, leaving the listener with the beginning section of track two – which is a powerhouse of clean/ingenious guitar virtuoso playing, pure epic drumming topped off with clean whispers (a sound to die for) then around the over the minute-plus mark, the sound changes into this captivating aggressive/progressive and epic sound/music.
The captivating, aggressive/progressive, and epic sound/music plays throughout the release. It injects their expressive pieces into the auditory spectrum that breezes over Ghent’s treetops, giving the listening an altogether elaborate manner of fantastic guitar playing, epic pianissimo to fortissimo sound/music, aspects of technical/progressive, atmospheric, various composition moments, blending of multiple metal elements, such as progressive metal, death/doom, black metal and, top-notch devilmanship.
I wanted to share our thoughts and MEMORABILIA on the FIFTH SIN. Is excellent guitar playing and experimentation in the music
Let’s discuss the ARTWORK of the SIXTH SIN. Very psychedelic and sci-fi, makes you look twice – definitely out of this world
Finally, the review will close with the last sin, the SEVENTH SIN, the DISRELISH. With nothing to disrelish within the musical world of “Entheogen,” this concludes the Entheogen – Other Word Review.
