The Fourth Sin: Overall Discussion: Music lies between aggression and progressive complexity…

As soon as the listener presses the play button, one is welcomed to the opening piece, Deviance, and welcomed to the clean passage of the guitar and atmosphere keys. Following suit with a buzz saw of the riffs and pounding of the drums with a nice rhythmic flow of fills and patterns and vocals consisting of low growls and snarls.

As one continues their journey with the second piece, Divinations, and the remaining seven songs…

The excellent devilmanship of one person provides the entire piece—created by a Yerevan-based project from Armenia and formed by the main songwriter/vocalist Artak Karapetyan. Artak and his music take the listener on a journey—a journey and musical spectrum that takes the listener through arctic seas, thunderous storms, and calm waters, where you are all alone with your thoughts for months on end.

Eternally Scarred - Echoes From Beneath

Echoes From Beneath gives the listener’s ears this compelling release that is well written/composed, both in the music and lyrics (songwriting and instrumental), providing the listener with music and songs that are different in tempo, sound, identity, moods, and atmosphere.

At the same time, this is between aggression and progressive complexity and technically of a musical spectrum that is well-balanced with perfection. What makes this a good and compelling release, is the perfected balance of melodic and aggression within the music score –thus creating something fresh and carefully crafted. Each of the nine songs -yes long songs -but either song doesn’t sound the same, either repetitive or dull.

At the same time, Echoes From Beneath provides the listener’s ears and soul with instrumental and vocal artistry of multi-instrumental fruit of art. Guitar artistry of various tempos, tones, and riffs such as catchy grooves with sad tones and clean/harmonies (calm, melodic passages/distortion) sections and heavily distorted aggression, light-echo acoustic/electro guitar strumming.

Echoes From Beneath drum work consists of various tempos, fills, beats, and patterns. Artak Karapetyan‘s vocal work intertwines harsh, gritty, eerie, and harrowing (whispering) spoken words, low growls, and snarls. At the same time, the cracks in the musical source are filled with symphonic/piano inserts and variations of sounds/atmospheres.

The album comes to an end with the last song, Eternally Scarred (Part II). We want to give a shoutout to Satanath Records for letting us review Eternally Scarred and his album, Echoes From Beneath. Now, we’re going to wrap it up by talking about the final three sins and concluding the review.
