The First Three Sins of Extinction Ritual
Let’s start by discussing the first three sins of Hate Angel and their album, Extinction Ritual
The First Sin, The Strings/Keys: Features twin guitar work of aggressive, dark, intense and intricate guitar work, with a merciless onslaught of razor sharp riffs and intricate solos. The Second Sin, The Vocals: Involves in searing vocals, that are aggressive, and tear through the lyrics. The Third Sin—The Percussions: Delves in a vast word relentless and pounding drums, with blast-beaten and pounding rhythms.
The Fourth Sin: Overall Discussion:
From the frigid clutches of Oslo, this relentless force, invoking up a whirlwind of blackened fury and thrashing mayhem
From the very first moment, the play button is engaged, the listener is immersed in a realm of shadowy and intense soundscapes, where each note serves as a ritualistic offering to both the ears and the spirit.
As the listener embarks their journey with the opening piece, Orkdal 1977, and the remaining seven pieces. This powerful fusion of raw energy and sinister force conjures a tempest of dark fury, unleashing a chaotic storm that thrashes through the very fabric of your being. The experience is a visceral journey, drawing you into a maelstrom of blackened sound that grips the soul with its relentless intensity. As the music swells and crashes like waves of madness, it invites you to surrender to the chaos, allowing the primal energy to envelop you in its wild embrace.
In under thirty minutes, this collection of eight tracks delivers (again) a raw and sinister energy. Bringing together a primal sense of malevolence and a tempest of dark fury by merging the fierce aggression and intensity of thrash metal with the shadowy, haunting, frigid atmosphere of black metal. Hate Angel, also offers the listener with a lyrical theme, that delves into the themes of the macabre and the occult, crafting an experience that is both dark and compelling.
Extinction Ritual presents a unique artistic expression characterized by its forbidden fruit of art devilmanship and composition, both lyrical and musical. This comprises a forbidden fruit of art devilmanship of twin guitar work with a merciless onslaught of razor-sharp riffs and solos. The aggressive nature of the instrumentation is further enhanced by a robust drumming performance that propels the music forward. The vocal, devilmanship provides and delivers this fierce and penetrating force, that cuts through the instrumental layers and lyrics, adding another dimension to the already intense auditory experience.
Throughout the album, listeners will encounter a blend of catchy yet raw moments, complemented by pounding beats that resonate deeply within the music composition. At the same time, the music draws the listener into its dark atmosphere, which is meticulously captured in a recording that balances modern clarity with an old-school richness. This careful production ensures that the raw energy of the tracks is preserved, allowing the listener to fully appreciate the depth and complexity of the sound.
Hate Angel and their inaugural album Extinction Ritual are sure to incite vigorous headbanging and enthusiastic fist-pumping from the moment the first note resonates. Their aggressive sound immerses listeners in a dense musical atmosphere that is difficult to escape. For those who appreciate music that is unrefined, profane, extreme, dark, and malevolence, and old-school with the 90s Norwegian (additionally, from the frigid clutches of Oslo) Black metal atmosphere — Extinction Ritual is an essential addition to their collection.
The album concludes with the concluding track, Extinction Ritual. We want to give a shoutout to WormHoleDeath Records for letting us review Hate Angel, and their album, Extinction Ritual. Now, we are going to conclude the review by talking about the final three sins and concluding the review.
The Last Three Sins
Let’s discuss the last three sins of Hate Angel and their album, Extinction Ritual
The Fifth Sin, The Memorabilia:
For me, Hate Angel, embodies this primal, vintage spirit while simultaneously evoking the chilling ambiance of 90s Norwegian black metal. Their sound (for me) draws inspiration from iconic bands like Aura Noir, early Immortal, early Bathory, and the German blackened thrash outfit Desaster. This unique blend creates an atmosphere that is both nostalgic and invigorating.
Extinction Ritual emerges as a powerful testament to the unrelenting energy of blackened thrash music, delivering a fierce and chaotic experience that fans crave. It channels the essence of raw fury and thrashing intensity, and the dark chilling atmosphere of black metal, and reminiscent of the darkest depths of hell.
The Sixth Sin, The Artwork:
The artwork immerses viewers in a mystical and ceremonial ambiance, perfectly embodying the essence of the album “Extinction Ritual” while evoking the classic black metal aesthetic with its striking black and white tones.
The Seventh Sin, Disrelish:
Nothing to disrelish within the musical spectrum of Hate Angel and their album, Extinction Ritual. Therefore, this concludes Hate Angel and their album, Extinction Ritual review.
