The Fourth Sin, Overall Discussion
The moment the listener hits play, they are immediately transported into the haunting world of Divided Into Zero and five other tracks, on a voyage of immersion in a world of melancholy with an atmosphere full of a despondent soundscape. The lyrics’ themes explore the extremes of misanthropy, reaching into the depths of suffering and isolation of a man who has been robbed of his divine essence. This heavy sound is a repudiation of religious dogmas, everyday canons, and dogma that reveals the deep ideological undercurrents that frame the experience.
Victim Path‘s album, Lost In Stellar Dust, offers a mesmerizing experience across six tracks that span thirty minutes. This is not just an album; it’s an invitation to pause your daily routine and lose yourself in the cosmic. More than mere notes and arrangements, it explores contrasts, moods, and emotions, enveloping you in a melancholic atmosphere and a haunting soundscape. This enthralling odyssey invites listeners to immerse themselves in a world where every note resonates with profound yearning and contemplation. As the music progresses, it masterfully interweaves a tapestry of sound that captures the essence of the human condition, pulling you deeper into the enchanted realm of Lost In Stellar Dust.
Victim Path’s album Lost In Stellar Dust is a forbidden fruit of art, filled with flawlessly executed compositions and arrangements, unveiled through the delivery of this fruit of art devilmanship. Where each song is not dull nor repetitive, it evokes imagery of cold, desolate landscapes, aligning with the band’s themes of isolation. The whole composition and structure are achieved in a production and sound that harmonizes clarity and the abrasiveness characteristic of black metal so that every instrument can be heard without losing the genre’s defining intensity.
Within this musical tapestry, the symbiotic interplay of instruments takes centre stage, with intricate twin guitar work, provided by V01D and Narg, intertwines tremolo-picked riffs with ethereal melodic segments and acoustic interludes. This fusion generates a vibrant soundscape that fluctuates between fierce black metal intensity, melodic breaks, soulful solos, and reflective, atmospheric and complex moments. Funer4l‘s bass riffs serve as a solid anchor, providing depth to the sound and complementing the guitar melodies. The instrumentation together provides a rich listening experience, where each element adds to the emotional effect of the music.
Wast3d‘s drumming deftly navigates between the thunderous onslaught of classic black metal blast beats and the subdued rhythms that seamlessly meld with the album’s atmospheric segments. Akefa1 delivers intense vocals, ranging from aggressive, anguished screams to vocal and spoken word passages. This contrast renders the emotional impact of the album all the more real, presenting despair and introspection. Ambient synth patterns are embedded all over the album, contributing to its otherworldly texture. They contribute to the transportive ambiance without overwhelming conventional instrumentation, adding to its reinforcement of thematic.
For us, this album is full of contrasts, moods and emotions, different reminiscences all the way from suicidal-depressive vibes to the snowy atmospheric black metal. Depressive, viscous, oppressive like a tombstone episodes are mixed with unmotivated aggression just to turn unexpectedly into a ringing elegiac sadness of northern landscapes. The catharsis comes from unity with nature and revealing its secrets so that you experience the hypnotic comfort of the icy wastelands. [Victim Path]
In essence, the intricate interplay of instruments and vocals breathes life into the compositions, encouraging listeners to delve into the subtle nuances of sound and emotion meticulously layered throughout the album. For those drawn to the allure of melancholic atmospheres, enveloping soundscapes, and intricate musical devilmanship that evokes profound inner reflection, Victim Path‘s Lost In Stellar Dust stands as a compelling musical journey waiting to be explored.
In the final track, Edges of Insanity, Victim Path concludes, the cosmos fades and the dust settles, but the music continues to reverberate in a depressing, snowy atmosphere. We want to thank both Fetzner Death Records and The Metallist PR for letting us review Victim Path and their album Lost In Stellar Dust. We will wrap it up by discussing the final three sins and concluding the review.
The Fifth Sin, The Memorabilia
For me, where do I begin with this fruit of art? This is more than depressive black metal – it’s dark and hypnotic depressive black metal with what feels like elements of snowy atmospheric black metal, post-black metal. And maybe, (for fans of) elements of Swedish avant-garde black metal act Shining, depressive inkling of Xasthur, and Swiss atmospheric black metal band, Darkspace, renowned for its immersive soundscapes and cosmic themes?
Thus creating something that makes you fall into a deep trance but stop and listen. For me, it is the clean, hypnotic, ethereal vocals and whispers and the clean acoustics — creepy and disturbing! But I like it… I was so lost in the world of my own, but at the same time, I was lost in the band’s musical world.

The Sixth Sin, The Artwork
The artwork fits within the atmospheric black metal or cosmic black metal aesthetic, a subgenre that blends traditional black metal with themes of space, isolation, and the infinite void of the cosmos. Captures the mood of being adrift in a hostile, uncaring universe—a common motif in cosmic black metal.
The Seventh Sin, Disrelish
