The First Three Sins of Gamera

Let’s start by discussing the first three sins of Xexyz and their album, Gamera.

Immediately after the listener presses that play button, one is welcomed to the opening piece, BLOCKING THE SUN, and the remaining eight tracks and the beginning of the listener’s epic gaming platform journey.

Where the listener finds that Xexyz has released and provided two early RPG (Blackened DNA) Dungeon synth releases (the full-length) Primeva Mountain and (the EP release) Death Mountain – now Xexyz unleashes his second full-length Gamera.

As one continues their epic gaming platform journey, where Xexyz takes both the black metal and PRG dungeon synth DNA from his last two releases. While adding some traditional heavy metal clean riffage and epic chorus vocals which intertwine with black metal shrieks, the fast tempo of speed metal with a flare of epic/power metal for his epic game lyrics. Xexyz also added/fusion the gaming soundtrack chiptune of the Nintendo Entertainment System within his musical spectrum.

While Xexyz keeps the standard metal instrumental structure, such as aggressive riffage with clean heavy metal riffage, epic and catchy drum strikes and beats, and your standard black metal shrieks with clean singing, with one difference: the symphonic sections are replaced with an NES (chiptune) as a keyboard consisting of various composition/characteristics which is all are convenient to place at the right moment.

At the same time, Gamera is a well-polished production in sound and atmosphere, well arranged and composed both in the music, songwriting, and instrumental. All are delivered and provided by a fruit of art devilmanship of creating this style of metal, known as Blackened Speed Chiptune or NESBM.

End of the day, this combination of blackened speed, heavy metal and NES chiptune, shouldn’t work –but it works.

A retro gaming-inspired blackened speed metal dedicated entirely to the worship of King Gamera? — “Gamera is insane”, “cartoonish nightmare”, and “an epic gaming soundtrack” -not too heavy nor light -but the perfect balance of capturing every musical and instrumental element in one release.
